I have in total bought 7 pieces from John Orban.
5 smaller pieces of turned bowls, hanging shadow outlines of wolves, and small whatnot box. My 2 larger pieces were a shadow box table for my husband’s retirement from the Air Force, and a 4 foot long serving tray that sits on a hassock. The details in all my pieces show a wonderful ability to work with wood and a love of wood. John took great care and attention to detail to design and complete my 2 larger pieces. I described and drew a rough drawing of what I wanted and he was able to create more than I’d hoped for in the final pieces. When people see the pieces I have they always inquire as to who the artist was and I highly recommend John to all. He is a professional in all ways.

I want to tell you how much I appreciate the work you did on the eagle you made for me. I never imagined when I gave you the picture of what I wanted how much effort you would put into making your finished project look like the picture. No one would ever believe from the finished product that you had never attempted this particular type of wood working project. Your attention to detail on the dozens of intricate pieces was astonishing. Your knowledge used in the selection of the various woods used made a huge difference in the final product. You are truely a master craftsman.
Thank you again for a wonderful piece of art. It hangs proudly near my front door for all to see. I wish you had not moved away so I could get you to make other wood projects for me. I hope some day to come by your shop.

John made us a pair of Black Walnut lamps that are absolutely beautiful. The lamp is many blocks of wood glued together and then turned on a lathe and finished. The picture says more than words can describe.
